Whoa! Where did May go? Actually, where has June gone? I’m a bit behind on my May Favorites post, but better late than never, right?
So my first fav of May was the Benefit Cosmetics, Hoola Zero Tan Lines allover body bronzer. Since it’s not summer yet, but the warm weather is here, it’s time to break out the shorts/capri’s/dresses/short sleeves, etc! And since we’re coming out of winter, I’m pretty pastey white still so this all over bronzer gives me a little color when I want it! It’s super easy to use, you just squeeze some of the gel onto the applicator that is located in the cover of the tube, and rub it on your legs and arms for a 12hr bronzed look. I haven’t experienced any streaking or weird color while using it and I only apply a thin layer as it tends to darken up a bit once it dries. Oh, and it dries quickly so you can lather up and then put your clothes on without having to worry about it getting on your clothing!
If you’re scared of sunless tanners, I would highly recommend trying out this product to see if you like it first because it only lasts 12hrs and comes off in the shower! Win, win! Oh, and it retails for $30 and this tube will last you quite a while if you aren’t using it daily!
Next on my favs list is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I know this isn’t a “new” product by any means but I want to talk about it because I have fallen in love with this product. I got a small sample size in my Vegas Nay Palette a while back and just thew it in my makeup drawer and kind of forgot about it. Then I was digging through my drawer and found it again and thought I’d try it out for sport… I’m glad that I did! This product is awesome and I’m bummed I didn’t use it sooner than now!
This shadow primer is a 24+ hr anti-crease primer that is sure to keep your shadow looking flawless all day… and night! A little goes a long way with this shadow primer! I usually put it on when I start my makeup so it has time to absorb a bit into my skin and then I go in with my shadow right over the top of it. Not only is it long lasting, but it helps your shadow to go on more smoothly as well! I have noticed a significant difference as far as how the colors blend out better with the shadow insurance underneath opposed to just a naked eyelid.
This product retails for $20 and worth every penny! (and it’s going to last you a while!!!)
And onto another primer/makeup setting spray by Make Up Forever… I’m usually a Smashbox Primer Water girl, but I came across the Make Up Forever Mist & Fix Setting Spray and decided I give it a whirl! While it’s considered a setting spray, it can be used first as a primer to keep your skin hydrated throughout the day. When I want my makeup to last all day and night, I’ll use this setting spray as my primer, then do my makeup and then spray it again once I’m done to set my makeup. By doing this, it gives my skin a good hydrating base and top coat and my makeup stays the way it should all day long! Oh, and the smell of this product is wonderful! This retails for $30.
Onto a couple of brushes… I’m a huge fan of Morphe Brushes and the two that I have fallen in love with this past month are the M439 and M433!
The M439 is an amazing foundation brush! It’s dense, yet soft and makes my foundation go on flawlessly! I highly recommend this brush if you don’t have it already! This retails for a whopping $13.99!
The M433 is a great rounded fluffy brush that is great for BLENDING! I absolutely love this brush! The bristles are not too long or not too short and it really helps pack color onto my eyelids and then blend it out. I think I now have 2 or 3 of this brush in my collection! This retails for $5.99 (this is why you can have so many of them!)
Once your makeup is off for the night, I highly recommend hydrating with the Dr. Jart+ Vital Hydra Solution Deep Hydration Sheet Mask! I happened to get one with my new Clarisonic brush and tried it out and O.M.G! I didn’t want to take this mask off of my face! From the moment I put it on, it made my skin feel amazing! It’s an easy mask to use, you just put it on your face for 15-20 minutes after cleansing and toning your face and once the time is up, remove the mask and massage any leftover product into your face!
I almost went to check my face to see if it looked like your hands and feet can look like after being in a bath for too long because the hydration that this mask gives you is insane! My skin still felt really hydrated the next day and throughout after using this mask ONCE! Not only is this mask a must-have, it’s really affordable at $6! Go get yourself one today, trust me!
Last but not least, since it’s almost summer time, it was time for a new scent! I’m usually a Michael Kors Sexy Amber girl but that’s almost more of a “winter” scent for me so when I was in my local Sephora, a new Michael Kors package caught my eye! The pink/orange ombre packaging drew me in and I smelled Sexy Sunset for the first time and I was hooked!
This is a limited-edition fragrance but totally worth getting your hands on! The notes are Blackcurrant, Peony and Vanilla and the Style is Sunkissed, Fruity and Floral.
Yes, I know, it’s hard to “smell” a scent through a screen, but trust me when I say, this is a great summer scent to have and get it while you can! This retails for $58 but sure to last you all summer long and then some!
So that’s it for my May Favs! If you go out and try some of these awesome products, leave me a comment below and let me know your thoughts! Take care and thanks for reading!!
