If you’re an eyeshadow hog like myself, you will love this palette! I’m not joking, I absolutely LOVE this palette! Yes, I love it because it’s in Jaclyn’s collection but had it not been, I would still love it just as much because it’s a Becca product.
These shadows are PIG-MENT-ED! And the color tone of this palette is just to die for! The colors aren’t too warm where if you’re not a warm color person you won’t like it. I personally tend to shift towards more cool tones but this palette is now my favorite go-to palette.
If you haven’t heard yet, people have been criticizing Jaclyn & Becca for this palette because they say the formula is NOT the actual Becca formula and it’s dry. Jaclyn took to snapchat on Tuesday to address this situation. She says that some of the palettes are of good quality and some are bad. This is because Becca used a different facility to manufacture these palettes over their regular palettes. They were assured that the formula would come out the same as all of their other eye shadows and things would be great.
Unfortunately, they were mislead and because the eye palette needed to get done ASAP, they used this other facility to get it out with the rest of the collection not knowing that the palette would come out badly. This is not Jaclyn’s fault and it’s not Becca’s fault either. The same formulation was used, but the facility that it was produced in wasn’t true to their word and they short-changed Becca on these palettes.
So…. long story short, Becca has decided to pull this eye shadow palette from the collection so it WILL NOT be available any longer. I know, sadness… They wanted to do good by Jaclyn and good to their customers by pulling this palette and also offering a refund to anyone that got a bad palette.
Not many big companies would do this. Most would say, “to heck with it” and let this go and ride off into the sunset making money off of a terrible product that people would buy because it has their favorite YouTuber’s name on it. Becca is a better company than most and they are showing it by standing up for not only their brand but for Jaclyn’s name on this product as well.
Thankfully, I believe I got a good palette because it isn’t dry and patchy like some are saying it is. I won’t be getting a refund for mine because I believe in Becca and Jaclyn and I bought it fair and square. I buy a lot of makeup not knowing how the formulation is going to be and when it doesn’t work out, I never expect a store to take it back after I’ve already opened it and used it. I’m appreciative when they do, but I’m taking a gamble every time I buy a product and most of the time, if it doesn’t work out for me, I’ll just give it to a friend to try it out on them. But THANK YOU to Becca for being an awesome company and facing this problem head on and not hiding behind it!
Let’s break it down, shall we? I’m going to skip around a bit as if I were putting it on right now.
Cordial – The PERFECT transition shade! I love this color because it gives my eyes a color to them but it’s so subtle that you can’t really tell it’s there which makes it great as a transition shade for me!
Cognac – This buttery brown is perfect for the outer corner and crease area. It’s a shade that’s going to give your look dimension when it’s all said and done! I also like to put this on my lower lash line and blend it out.
Bordeaux – Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmmmm, this color is bomb! It’s a darker brownish purple color that is beyond perfection for those that have been looking for this type of color. I love to put this on my outer corner for a daytime look but for a nighttime look, I’ll put this all over my lid!
Champagne Toast – YAAASSSSS! This beautiful shimmery/foiled toast color is by far my favorite! During the day, I’ll sweep this from my inner corner to the middle of my eye and blend it with my outer corner color to give me a little bit of sparkle. At night, I’ll wet my brush and then apply it on my lid and the color really POPS!
Chardonnay– The perfect highlighter color! I know Jaclyn loves her some Mac Nylon but this color, in my opinion, is way better! I’ll pop this on my brow bone and in the inner corner of my eye to really make my eyes pop!
Again, the packaging is on fleek just like the face palette! Everything about it is fantastic!
